Steven Arthur "Steve" Pinker (born September 18, 1954) is a Canadian-American cognitive scientist, psychologist, linguist, and popular science author. He is Johnstone Family Professor in the Department of Psychology at Harvard University,[3] and is known for his advocacy of evolutionary psychology and the computational theory of mind. His Philosophy

「人間の心は脳で実行される認知能力と感情能力の複 雑なシステムであり、その基本的設計は進化のプロセスに負」う（『暴力の人類史（上）』邦訳, p.15）

《進化心理学者に対する行動心理的論駁について》 ――そもそもなぜこれが私のいう《全体論に基づく直観》になりえるか？ということですが、このような命題を内面化した後には、本人が気がつかなくても post hoc にそのような説明を《直観》的に正しいと闇雲に判断してしまうことがあるからです。心理学者は、それを先行条件を正しいとしてしまったために、それにあう 事例のみを採用し、それに会わないものを例外ないしノイズと棄却してしまう性向＝バイアスと説明してくださるでしょう。
