My special interests are Medical Anthoropology and Ethnographical Studies of Central America. Now I add one more, in Health Communication Studies.
I had worked as Deputy Direcetor and Director of the
CSCD [the Center for the study of Communication/CO*- Design ] from 2015 to 2022.

I was born on June 16, 1956 at the
Osaka Kita Hospital (now closed) in Kita-ku, Osaka City. I used to be a
professor at the CSCD [the Center for the study of Communication/CO*- Design ] (April 2005 - March 2022). I had worked as Deputy Direcetor and Director of the
CSCD from 2015 to 2022.
I also use nickname as Gennosuke Tarumi and/or Ichikawa Danjuro. Mitzub'ixi Quq Chi'j is my Mam name in both the Sierra Madre and the Cuchumatan highlands, Guatemala.
My academic areas are ethnography and medical anthropology of
Central America. My main academic affiliations include the Japanese
Society of Cultural Anthropology, the American Anthropological
Association, the Latin American Studies Association of Japan, and the
Japanese Society of Health and Medical Sociology. I am currently living
somewhere on earth as a cultural anthropologist.
I am the director of the Medical Anthropology Projects in Japan (MAP-J). I
am still involved in the "Society for the Study of Medical
Anthropology," the "Society for the Study of World Rehabilitation
(formerly the Society for the Study of Field Power)," and the "Society
for the Phenomenology of Clinical Practice.
Mitsuho Ikeda is professor emeritus at Osaka University. His fields of
expertise include cultural anthropology, medical anthropology, and
communication design. Her main publications include "Medical
Anthropology in Practice: The Geopolitical Development of Medicine in
the Central American Health Care System" (sole author), "Introduction
to Nursing Anthropology" (sole author), Bunka Shobo Hakubunsha, and
"The Creation of Dementia Care: Toward Nursing of the Personality"
