1939 年2月歌集『白描』改造社。最終的に25万5千部のベストセラー。後に、河上徹太郎は「広く文壇を通じて近来の絶品」、下村海南は「経典である」と絶賛。 ／厚生省主催「癩文芸座談会」が銀座ニューグランドで開催され、光田と内田が出席する。主催は、日本癩予防協会（1931年設立）と長崎次郎書店主（岡野 2006:57-58）。
