 Understanding Marshall McLuhan and Dean MacCannell
授業の目的と概要／Course Objective
 この講義の英文タイトルは Understanding Marshall McLuhan and Dean MacCannellです。初めてマクルーハン（あるいはマッカネル）という人名を聞いた、どこかで聞いたことがあるけどよく知らないという学生は必聴で す。米国の議会図書館館長だったダニエル・ブーアスティン(1914-2004)は、テレビやラジオ、マスツーリズム、そして（たぶん）インターネットで すら、擬似的イベントにすぎないと指摘した歴史家ですが、マクルーハンやマッカネルに言わせれば、それは我々の心がどのように構築されるのかについてあま りにも無知な理解であり「イケてない」ということになります。以上のことを、講義が終わった時点でみなさんが当たり前に感じるように、僕が説得すること、 それがこの講義の目的です。
 The original title of this class in English, is "Understanding Marshall McLuhan and Dean MacCannell." So we will introduce the theories of Marshall McLuhan and Dean MacCannell including Daniel Boorstin's critique on modern "un-real" life. Marshall McLuhan and Daniel Boorstin (except Dr.Dean MacCannell) might not understand the concept of event in cyber-space because the both had died before the propagation of the internet. But the three thinkers are very important of our cyberpunk era. Now the time of our seminar !!!
学習目標／Learning Goals
 １）マーシャル・マクルーハン『人間拡張 の原理』を読んで、オモロイと言い、授業を聞いていない連中に、その意味をある程度満足に他の人たちに吹聴できること。
２）ディーン・マッカネル『ザ・ツーリスト』における「上演された本物性」とは何か、説明することができ、その現代的事例をひとつでも友人に解説できるこ と。
３）ひとりで勉強するのは苦手だが、みんなとなら、がんばって課題文献を読み通すことができるようになること。
 1) We will learn the McLuhan's thesis relating on virtual communication.
2) We will learn the MacCannell's thesis relating on virtual communication.
3) We will enjoy with circumstance of the LPP, Legitimate Peripheral Participation [http://bit.ly/2Y4Gers].
