感染し爆発する〈意味〉

々は隠喩という想像力を抜きにしては生きてはいけない。つまり感染症にまつわる様々な社会的現象においても隠喩の力が作用している。隠喩の呪縛から解放さ
れるためには、（１）隠喩から自由になる、（２）自らも隠喩を駆使しながらも隠喩の作用につねに自覚的になる、という２つの処方箋が考えられる。筆者の立
場は、隠喩から自由になれるという幻想をもつことを放棄しながらも、希望を捨てずに後者の立場をとるものである。感染症の爆発は社会的意味の爆発にほかな
らない。したがって感染症を征圧管理する制御システムは、意味を制御する社会システムの発達を不可欠とする。 |
We
cannot live without the imagination of metaphor. In other words, the
power of metaphor is at work in various social phenomena related to
infectious diseases. To break free from the bonds of metaphor, two
approaches can be considered: (1) becoming free from metaphor, and (2)
remaining constantly aware of the effects of metaphor while also making
use of it oneself.The author's position is to abandon the illusion of
being able to free oneself from metaphor while maintaining hope and
adopting the latter stance. The outbreak of infectious diseases is
nothing other than an explosion of social meaning. Therefore, a control
system to suppress and manage infectious diseases necessitates the
development of a social system that controls meaning. |
